girl who cried wolf - a metaphor (pt. 2)

today, the lone wolf realised something.
she came to realise that it is okay to not have a pack, to not have anybody yearning for her existence and presence, to not have another wolf attracted to her, to not get attention from other wolves, or to not get invited to join any packs.

it is okay.

because she still has a family. a family whose love has no boundary. a family whose concern comes in prayer, daily. a family that lives miles away but always, always wants and claims her by heart.

a father that may be clumsy and never say the word "love" out loud, or "i miss you", but she can feel it. because he does not say it. he shows it.

a mother who may not reply her letters but answers her howls every single time. a mother who does not get tired of listening to her cries.

a sister and a brother. the ones whom she might not talk to on frequent basis but their concern and love are there, she can feel them. definitely inseparable when they're together.

and again, a sister. a very, very caring and loving sister. even if this lone wolf were to be reborn, she would definitely want no other. a sister who stays clingy and overly-attached out of love. a sister who always convinces her that she may be a lone wolf here, but not entirely in the whole world. a sister that is not just a person but a home she can always go back to everyday, even if they are physically miles away. a sister that always has her heart open to listen to her daily grumbles and struggles. a sister that always reminds her not to think that nobody wants her existence because this sister loves and cherishes her presence more than anything. a sister that once used to be a lone wolf, too, but remained and remains strong. a sister like no other.

the lone wolf realises that she might be alone, but not entirely. she might be alone, but not lonely. she might be alone, but she can be happy. because out there, out of this place, some actually care and wait. she knows it's just a small number but it's not about the number. it's about how strong their bond is, and how strong their love makes her grow and stay alive. she can never be any more grateful.
